M.Ed. PART-TIME
SCHEME OF MASTER OF EDUCATION (PART-TIME) PROGRAMME Master of Education (Part Time) or M.Ed. (Part Time) shall be an in-service Professional Programme of the Post Graduate level available to the in-service teachers, and the educational functionaries connected with administration, research, curriculum and/or material development, policy making, and teacher education, etc. Duration of the Program: The M.Ed. (Part Time) programme shall be of a duration of two academic years during each of which there shall be observed at least 200 (Two Hundred) teaching days of the teaching of at least 3 Hrs. per day in a six-day week. Eligibility for doing M.Ed. (Part Time): Every candidate seeking admission to M.Ed. (Part Time) programme shall have to satisfy the following eligibility conditions: He/She must possess the degree of B.Ed. of Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur or of any other recognised Indian University with at least 55% marks in aggregate, and 50% marks in both Theory and Practice Teaching separately. Besides, he/she must also have teaching experience at least of Two Years in succession of teaching in any Government run or Government recognized School obtained after doing B.Ed. This eligibility will change as and when the new instructions/directives are received any time from all or any of the regulatory/controlling/affiliating agencies like National Council for Teacher Education/University Grants Commission/the State Government /Jai Narain Vyas University. Teaching Schedule and the Scheme of Examination: M.Ed. (Part Time) Programme shall follow the same Syllabus as in currently prescribed for the full time M.Ed. programme of Jai Narain Vyas University. However, in the first year of teaching the following three Papers under the Foundation Course shall be taught: Paper I: Philosophical Foundations of Education and Comparative Education – 1 Hr. daily for at least 200 days Paper II: Psychological and Sociological Foundations of Education – 1 Hr. daily for at least 200 days Paper III: Methodology of Educational Research and Statistics – 1 Hr. daily for at least 200 days The sessional work for these three Papers shall also be got completed by each student during the first year of teaching. In the second year of teaching the two Papers from one of the areas of Specialization so chosen by each student shall be taught, and the work on the Dissertation till its completion shall be done. The sessional work in these two Papers of Specialization shall also be got completed. All other rules and regulations presently in vogue for the M.Ed. Full Time Programme shall also remain in force for the M.Ed. (Part Time) Programme. The University Examination for Foundation Papers along with specialization papers shall be held along with the M.Ed. Full Time Programme. This Examination shall be taken in the second year of the M.Ed. (Part Time).
The Admission Process in M.Ed. Part-Time is as follows : (i) For the admission in M.Ed. Part-Time the candidates of all categories shall have to posses minimum 55% marks in B.Ed./Shiksha Shastri Examination with 50% marks separately in Theory and Practical Examinations. (ii) The base of the computation of the marks shall be the combined percentage in the Theory as well as Practical Examinations of the B.Ed./Shiksha Shastri Examinations (Bachelor in Education). (iii) The following marks shall also be added to the base marks :-
Note :
The teaching experience shall be counted of the period after obtaining the degree of B.Ed. and that too of after obtaining Two Years' of Teaching Experience. This means that no bonus marks shall be admissible for first two years of Teaching Experience. The experience certificate must be countersigned by the District Education Officer.
