Library (For M.Ed. & Ph.D. Students)

The Hostel of the College popularly known as Mahesh Hostel is situated on Chopasni Road,Opp.Bombay Motors Circle and has been in existence since 1961.
The College provides hostel facility for boys though residing in the hostel is not compulsory for any student but since many a student come from outside Jodhpur as such this facility is availed by such students. The hostel can accommodate about 60 boy-students.

The library in any educational institution is considered as its heart and spirit. It also reflects the ethos and the culture of that institution.
The College has a very big library having about 38,000 (Thirty Eight Thousand) books pertaining to the pedagogical and methodological areas of Teacher Education fulfilling the requirements of B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D. (Education) students. The library is an amalgamation of the old as well as the recent books and journals. It also has all prominent encyclopedias. The library provides two and three books on loan to B.Ed. and M.Ed. students respectively on the library tokens. Besides, it also gives a complete set of books from the Book-Bank to each student of B.Ed. and M.Ed. which they keep for the whole session and redeposit the same after the University Examinations are over.
The College library remains open on all the working days from 10 AM to 5 PM. Every student or visitor to the library makes an entry of his/her name before entering it. This gives an idea about the number of the people making use of the library daily.
The College library is also equipped with the Sound System which plays at a very low pitch sound of the Indian Classical Instrumental Music. This has been provided to enhance the level of concentration of the readers in the library and owes its introduction to the researches done in the area of Mood Psychology.

A separate Air Conditioned Room provides only for Post-Graduate Students and Research Scholars. This Room is known as M.Ed. Room where all the reference material including the journals pertaining to Educational Research, and other relevant areas are available for the M.Ed. Students and Research Scholars. The copies of every dissertation and Ph.D. Theses and Research Projects are also available in this Library.

The College has a well equipped Seminar Hall which is fully Air Conditioned with a provision to accommodate about 80 people. This hall has got a L.C.D. Projector, along with a Computer attached to it (with Internet facility), an Over Head Projector, a Screen and a very large Green Glass Board. An attached toilet is also provided. This hall is extensively used for organising the In-service Orientation Courses for Secondary School Teachers under C.T.E. Programmes as well as for holding a variety of activities like M.Ed. Level Seminars and Regional and National Seminars/ Workshop/ Conferences etc.

The College has a very big Auditorium having a capacity of about 400 audience. This is being used for the Daily Prayer, organising Inter-Sectional Cultural Competitions, Annual Function, Debate Competitions, Orientation of the students at the beginning of the academic session, and all such activities where the students and the teachers of the College assemble.
This is also used for Indoor Games activities such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, etc.

The Computers now have become indispensable part of any system of education. The prospective teachers need to be oriented towards using the computer in the classroom teaching. Hence a separate computer laboratory has been established which presently has 18 Computers along with a Laser Printer, a Dot Matrix Printer and an Inkjet Printer.
The laboratory is fully Air Conditioned and has provision of providing the theoretical as well as practical teaching of computers. The lab is also has Internet Connectivity with a 256 Kbps Broad Band connection and a LAN (Local Area Network) has been provided connecting all the fifteen computers. Four PCs have also been provided with a Head Phone and a Web Camera.

In order to provide Audio, Visual and Audio-Visual Aids to the students as well as to demonstrate to them their different uses, a separate Audio-Visual and a Art Room is there in the College. This Audio-Visual room is equipped with a 29" Television Set with a D.V.D. Player connected to it, and many other technical gadgets like 16mm Film Projector, L.C.D Projector,Automatic Slide Projector, Manual Slide Projector, and Over Head Projector, etc.
The Art Room consists of the charts and other teaching aids and materials made by the people teachers of the College which is used by them during their lessons. The maps, globes, roller-up boards, are also available for the use by the people teachers.

The College has adequately equipped Biology, Physics and Chemistry Laboratories where the science students not only go for practical works but also get the material issued for demonstration for practical work in classrooms during Practice Teaching of the lessons.
The Science Laboratory was constructed and developed under the financial assistance provided by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), New Delhi.

A Psychology Laboratory is an integral part of a teacher education institution. This College has this lab since its establishment.The Psychology Laboratory was constructed and developed under the financial assistance provided by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), New Delhi.
Psychology Laboratory is used for issue of Psychological Tests to the B.Ed. Students for their sessional work in the paper of Educational Psychology. The students are M.Ed. also make an extensive use of this lab for getting the tests/ inventories etc. for their dissertation and sessional work.
