1. - PRINCIPLES AND ORGANISATION OF GUIDANCE

 

 

COURSE CONTENT

 

       There will be five compulsory questions, one from each unit with an internal choice (either...or). All questions carry

        equal marks. All questions are compulsory.

 

 

     UNIT - I : The concept and Fundamental of Guidance :

     (a) History of Guidance services (India and Abroad)

     (b) Concept, Basic Assumptions and Need of Guidance.

     (c) Objectives, Scope and Principles of Guidance.

 

     UNIT - II : Educational Guidance :

     (a) Meaning, Nature and Scope of Educational Guidance.

     (b) Need and principles of Educational Guidance.

     (c) Educational Guidance at different levels of School.

     (d) Process of Educational Guidance.

     (e) Types and Sources of Educational Information.

 

     UNIT - III :  Vocational Guidance :

     (a) Meaning, Objectives and Need of Vocational Guidance.

     (b) Principles and Procedure of Vocational Guidance.

     (c) Vocational Choice, Vocational Maturity and Vocational Adjustment.

     (d) Nature and Importance of Occupational Information.

     (e) Classification of Occupations.

     (f) Sources of Occupational Information.

     (g) Collection, Analysis and Dissemination of Occupational Information.

 

     UNIT - IV :   Personal Guidance :

     (a)  Meaning, Need and Significance of personal Guidance.

     (b) Principles of Personal Guidance.

     (c) Nature of Personal Social Problems at different levels viz. Childhood Adolescence and College Youth.

     (d) Personal, Social Guidance with Specific reference of Indian Cultural.

     (e) Techniques of Group Guidance.

     (f) Specific need for Group Guidance in the Indian Situations.

 

    UNIT - V :  Organization and Administration of Guidance Services : 

      (a)  Description of Basic Services of Guidance and Counseling.

     (b) Organization of Guidance Programmes at various levels of School i.e. Elementary, Secondary, and

     Senior Secondary.

     (c) Principles of Organizing School Guidance Service.

     (d) Characteristics of a good Guidance Organization.

     (e) Roles of various Personals, Agencies, home and Community in an organized programme of Guidance

     Services.

     (f) Training of Professional personnel i.e. Teacher, Head Master, Teacher-Counselor, School Counselor.

     (g) Guidance Organizations in India.

     (h) Needed Areas and Nature of Research in Guidance.

 

 

     SESSIONAL WORK :

      Compiling  and Cataloguing the occupational information based on the advertisements appearing in any of the

      English/Hindi   National Dailies or Weeklies. (The information must be based on the publication of at least 30 days).
